USAF HGU-2/P Jet Pilot Flight Helmet + MBU-5 Mask
US Air Force flight helmet and oxygen mask set named to a 68th Fighter Interceptor Squadron pilot. HGU-2/P jet pilot flight helmet, size Large, single tinted visor. Dated 1960. Alcantara covered cushion pads. Avionics and side plug for the oxygen mask's microphone's jack. Visor's cover has been hand painted with the 68th FIS emblem, interceptor units lightning bolts and 41st Air Division colors shield. Also included a 1961 dated early MBU-5/P oxygen mask, size REGULAR NARROW with straight bayonets, microphone, cable and jack. CRU-8 connector to attach the bail out oxygen bottle. Matching the period when the 68th fighter interceptor squadron was flying with Convair F-102 Delta Dagger interceptors. Both helmet and mask belonged to the same pilot. Display included.
