HGU-2A/P USAF Fighter Pilot Flight Helmet & Mask
Complete US Air Force fighter pilot helmet and oxygen mask display set, circa early 80's, named to Colonel Robert C. Hauver. Helmet is a type HGU-2A/P, size MEDIUM, made by GENTEX, dated 1980. Gull wing cut visor housing and custom liner, certainly made by the Physiological Training Division. Helmet is complete with avionics. MBU-5 oxygen mask made by SIERRA, size REGULAR-WIDE, dated 1977, complete with microphone and cable. Nice matching st in outstanding condition. Display is included.
Colonel Robert C. Hauver began his career in the USAF in 1960. He took part in many space programs, including Appolo VII, in the development of aerospace medicine in general and was also part of the HOMECOMING mission to bring back the Vietnam POW's. He retired as a Colonel and Air Force Command Surgeon.
