US Army Air Force Pilot D-1 Flying Sunglasses WWII


Very rare early WWII US Army Air Force pilot folding flying sunglasses type D-1. Unmarked green tinted rock glass lenses. Stamped USAC (United States Air Corps) on center hinge. Comfort flanges with insulated temples. Excellent condition with period American Optical leather case. These sunglasses will be superseded by the AN-6531-1 fixed aviator type from 1943.
