Ref. 5A/2728 WWII Royal Air Force regulation two parts survival floatation lamp. Main body made of wood and metal with blue painted tin battery compartment stamped A.M with King's Crown. From 1943 on, a specific outer pocket with two compartments will be designed for this lamp on the 1941 pattern life preserver.
