Life Preserver type B-3 Mae-West Pilots US Army Air Force WWII
B-3 Life Preserver aka mae-west. Dated February 1942, made by AIR CRUISERS INC. Early red medical rubber inflation tubes. Still in its original condition, before the collar strap modification (technical order May 25, 1944). Standardized on January 1936, the B-3 vest will see service until the end of WWII. It will be superseded by the B-4 model, adopted on May 6, 1942. Excellent condition, scarce item.
