WWII US Army Air Force MEYER Glider Wings Badge
US Army Air Force glider pilot qualification wings badge, introduced September 1942, full size, US die-struck sterling made by MEYER in New-York. Raised shield "MEYER NEW-YORK" engraved backwards as it should be on original wings. Length: 78 mm. 90° opening pin. Frosted back. Mint condition and outstanding patina. Superbe état. The MEYER glider pilot wings are one of the most forged US wings badges, they are made of sterling like the original ones and are coming from UK. Fortunately there are tell-tales signs like the pin's opening angle, back finish and the fact that they are casts which help making the difference with original exemples.
