Circa 1957-60 APH-5 US Navy flight helmet and oxygen mask set. Helmet is complete with headphones, cable and jack. APH-5 helmet is a size MEDIUM made by GENERAL TEXTILE MILLS. Single tinted visor with 2nd pattern spring loaded push button. Mine Safety Appliances oxygen mask dated 1954, size MEDIUM, with microphone and "Y" shaped fastening device. 191A2 oxygen connector with bail ourt oxygen bottle port. Same helmet as the one worn by Astronaut John Glenn during the Project Bullet transcontinental speed record with a F-8 Crusader jet fighter in July 1957. An iconic naval aviator helmet. Display head is included.
