Complete Vietnam era US Air Force 48th Tactical Fighter Wing fighter pilot custom helmet and oxygen mask display set. Helmet is a type HGU-2A/P size MEDIUM made by PROTECTION INC in Pomona (California). Gull wing cut visor housing and custom liner. Rear of visor's housing and securing knob have been protected with felt material to keep the pilot from scratching the aircraft's canopy (typical of fighter units). Helmet is complete with avionics. Oxygen mask and hardshell are a rare custom production from the Physiological Training Division to comply with pilots who didn't find their fit with the then current MBU-5 mask. It's complete with microphone and cable. Nice matching set belonging to the same pilot who flew several combat missions in Asia with F-100 and F-4E fighter jets. Display is included.
