US Air Force late 1960's jet pilot helmet and oxygen mask set. The helmet is a type HGU-2A/P, complete with avionics, size LARGE. Single tinted visor with securing knob. Visor housing has been originally modified with a gullwing cut to improve panoramic vision, a common habit amongst fighter pilots with the HGU-2 helmets until the introduction of the HGU-55 in the mid-80's. The visor housing and securing knob have been covered with protecting material to prevent the canopy from being scratched. An original 366th Tactical Fighte Wing sticker has been applied on the eft side of visor's housing. Matching MBU-5 oxygen mask made by SIERRA, size REGULAR WIDE, dated 1970 with straight bayonets. Nice matching set. Display head included.
