B-16 type direct reading magnetic compass. Dated 1942, manufactured by Bendix Aviation. This type of compass equipped the majority of US Army Air Force aircraft during World War II, from the P-51 Mustang fighter to the B-17 Superfortress bomber. Diameter 80 mm, Depth 95 mm.
