Vietnam era helmet and oxygen mask set for a US Air Force pilot. The helmet is a type HGU-7/P, size LARGE, complete with its visor, earphones and boom microphone. It is presented in its original box with its adjustment pads still mounted on their board. Manufactured by LAND MFG CO., dated 1969. The oxygen mask is a MBU-5 model, manufactured by SIERRA, dated 1968, size LONG-NARROW, equipped with microphone, cord and plug, specific white nylon fasteners for this type of helmet.. Also included is a vintage pair of private porchase FG-58 sunglasses with original case. The display head is included. Matching set, Vietnam period. This type of helmet equipped pilots of light reconnaissance aircraft "FAC" (Forward Air Controllers) flying O-1 Bird Dog or OV-10 Bronco aircrafts, some crews of B-52 Strato-Fortress, KC-135 Strato-Tanker and a famous photo shows a crew of B-58 hustler with the same type of equipment.
