APH-5 Army type helicopter crew flight helmet, made by GENTEX. Dated 12/65. Size LARGE. 2nd pattern with process coloured white plastic visor housing. Complete with boom mic, headphones, cable and U-93A/U jack. Leather covered cushion pads. Excellent condition. Typical period equipment for helicopter crews during the early years of Vietnam war. Most pilots and door gunners will camouflage them with OG-107 paint for obvious survival reasons. These helmets will be superseded by the green ones from year 1966-67. Also included, the original carrying bag.
