Vietnam era helmet and oxygen mask set for a US Air Force pilot. The helmet is a type HGU-7/P, size LARGE, complete with its visor, earphones and boom microphone. Manufactured by SIERRA. The oxygen mask is a MBU-5 model, manufactured by SIERRA, dated 1966, size LONG-NARROW, equipped with microphone, cord and plug, quick don fastening system. Also included is a vintage pair of HGU-4/P sunglasses made by AMERICA OPTICAL. The display head is included with the original carrying bag (damaged zipper). Matching set, Vietnam period. This type of helmet equipped pilots of aircrafts not eqipped with ejection seats as light reconnaissance aircraft "FAC" (Forward Air Controllers) flying O-1 Bird Dog or OV-10 Bronco aircrafts, some crews of B-52 Strato-Fortress, KC-135 Strato-Tanker and B-58 hustler as it has an escape capsule.
