A very fine and rare World War II US Navy or Marine Corps pilot's summer flight helmet. Originally a white flight deck crew cotton helmet modified by the "Parachute Riggers," responsible for maintaining and repairing flight equipment at US Navy stations and on aircraft carriers, the helmet was completed with very rare "TC-66" type rubber and foam earcups covered in chamois and fitted with TELEPHONICS-manufactured TH-37 earphones. Goggles straps retainers were made from parachute back pads harness loops. Named to "F;E YARNALL". Goggles and display head not included. An iconic piece of equipment for World War II naval fighter pilots.
