US Navy or US Marine Corps pilot helmet, type APH-6A. Manufactured by GENTEX (General Textile Mills), dated 1967. Size MEDIUM. Single tinted visor. "US NAVY" decal with wings on the front. Regulation reflective tape for easier spotting at sea in case of a crash. Three-piece polystyrene liner. Complete with leather-covered pads, earphones, cord, and plug. Chrome-plated "butterfly" style oxygen mask attachment receivers. This type of helmet was issued to pilots of aircraft such as the F-8 Crusader, F-4 Phantom II, A-4 Skyhawk, and AD Skyraider during the Vietnam War. Excellent condition.
