Vietnam Camo HGU-2 USAF Pilot Flight Helmet

A complete HGU-2P helmet and MBU-5 oxygen mask set from 1969-1970, belonging to an F-100 Super Sabre pilot of the 306th Tactical Fighter Squadron/31st Tactical Fighter Wing, Tuy Hoa Air Base, Vietnam. The helmet is a modified HGU-2 model with the Sierra dual visor system (clear and tinted). Medium size. The entire helmet was locally camouflaged at the base with the same paint used to camouflage the F-100s. It features leather-covered foam ear cushions, a complete audio system with headsets mounted on articulated arms, and a side connector for the oxygen mask wiring. The MBU-5/p oxygen mask is a GENERAL TYRE manufacture, dated 1967, Regular Wide size. The set is complete with microphone, cable, and plug. The original carrying bag is incuded. A striking and beautiful decorative piece for an office. An iconic and essential addition to any flight helmet collection.
