US AIR FORCE pilot flight helmet and oxygen mask set from the mid-1980s era. The helmet is a HGU-55/P type, size EXTRA-LARGE, single tinted visor with MBU-5 oxygen masks visor cut. Headphones and microphone plug for the oxygen mask. Leather visor cover with machine stitched 63rd Tactical Fighter Training Squadron patch. Custom liner characteristic of the early HGU-55s. The top of the helmet has been covered with felt, allowing the visor to slide more easily compared to the original leather. The MBU-5/P mask is a SCOTT manufacture, size REGULAR/WIDE, dated 1982. Complete with com cord and microphone. A nice matching set. Display included.
