Vietnam APH-5A Helicopter US Army Pilot Helmet
Black painted APH-5 Army type helicopter crew flight helmet, made by SIERRA. Dated 1966. Size MEDIUM. 2nd pattern with plastic visor housing and no stregthening piece on rail. Complete with boom mic, headphones, cable and U-93A/U jack. Leather covered cushion pads. Also included the rare in country made carrying bag made of silk lined with wool. Typical period equipment for Gunships door gunners during the early years of Vietnam war. Most pilots and door gunners will camouflage them with OG-107 paint for obvious survival reasons. These helmets will be superseded by the green ones from year 1966-67.
