US NAVY APH-5 Pilot Flight Helmet & Oxygen Mask

US Navy APH-5 jet fighter pilot helmet with matching MS-22001/A-13A oxygen mask, circa 1960-62. The helmet is complete with leather covered pads, earphones , cable and jack. earpads have been covered with chamois leather for comfort. Period upgrade with early SIERRA receivers for the oxygen mask's hard shell and "T" bayonets attachment. Single tinted visor with securing crew (period upgrade). The helmet shell has been covered with reflecting tape to facilitate the pilots rescue in case of ditching. MS-22001 oxygen mask is a MEDIUM size, dated 1956, made by Mine ACUSHNET with microphone and HARDMANN hardshell with "CHRISTMAS TREES" fasteners. Rare early oxygen mini-regulator made by "FIREWEL" with ReDar hose directly fitted on the mask matching this period's specs. A very nice helmet, typical equipment of early F-8 Crusader or FJ-2/3 Fury pilots. Display head is included.
From the late 50's on, all the US Navy pilots flying aircrafts equipped with ejection seats will have the miniregulator oxygen system which is connected between the pilot and ejection seat which is connected to the aircraft oxygen delivery.
