US Air Force P-1A Pilot Flight Helmet & A-13A Mask
Circa 1955-56 P-1A US Air Force flight helmet and A-13A oxygen mask
Helmet is a rare circa 1951-1953 production P-1A type by GENERAL TEXTILE MILLS. Phenolic resin shell, size LARGE. The helmet has been period uprgaded to P-4 standards with H-75 AIC headset on spring loaded "top hat" mounts, cable and U-93/U plug. US AIR FORCE stamped leather and nylon liner with maker's label. Regulatory modified with the tinted visor kit to P-3 standards. Handpainted shell to the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron "The Black Knights of Keflavik" colors.
The oxygen mask is an A-13A /MS-22001 dated 1956 in excellent condition. Complete with microphone and early USAF specs 191A2 connector. Size MEDIUM. made by Mine Safety Appliances.
Rare set in excellent condition. Display is included. Matching the period whan the unit was flying Northrop F-89C Scorpions.
