Regulation US Army Air Force Model A-8 pocket stopwatch, manufactured by Waltham, circa 1944. This timepiece was designed to calculate the aircraft's airspeed relative to the ground, a particularly important calculation for bombing missions. It features a continuous movement with a central seconds hand, each revolution of which corresponds to 10 seconds. The case is engraved on the back: A-8 SPEC. NO. 94-11922 SER. NO.AF-44-11922 MFRS PART NO. 130 ORD. NO. W-11-107-AC-693.
