Rare US Air Service Signal Corps aircraft cockpit clock (the ASSC became the US Air Corps in 1926), manufactured by Waltham circa 1914–1918; in perfect working order. Metal case. Mechanical 8-day, 7-jewel, manual-wind movement (caliber 37). Dial features 12-hour graduation, a subsidiary seconds dial at the 12 o'clock position, and a date function. Winding/setting knob at the 6 o'clock position. These cockpit clocks were fitted to Dayton-Wright DH-4s, Curtiss JN-4 "Jennys," and various other US Army aircraft during World War I. Presented in an exquisite period custom made walnut stand. Clock diameter: 7 cm. Stand: Height 13 cm x Width 17 cm.
