WWII US Army Air Force Pilot A-2 Leather Flight Jacket
509th Squadron / 351st Bomb Group US ARMY AIR FORCE bomber pilot A-2 leather flying jacket, horsehide, made by AEROLEATHER with matching tag. Size 36 US. both units emblems have been hand painted on canvas and are originally stitched on both sides of chest. Working original TALON zipper. very good condition waist and sleeves knittings. Leather is in very good condition with strong stitching and no repairs. A beautiful and wearable A-2 jacket with a lovely patina. Officers shirt isn't included. The handwritten name on the lining will be disclosed to the buyer. The pilot can be seen on the unit's rosters for 12 missions from 1944 to February 1945 over Germany (Kassel, Sindelfingen, Frankfurt, Merseburg, Cologne, Kall, Biblis, Kaiserslautern, Mönchengladbach, Kassel, Koblenz, Berlin). He can be seen wearinthe jacket with the crew of the B-17 Bomber #42-97169 / My Gal II.
