B-3 Life Preserver aka Mae-West. Dated MAY 1942, made by AIR CRUISERS INC. Complete with all its straps, emergency inflation tubes, still sealed triggered inflation system. Standardized on January 1936, the B-3 vest will see service until the end of WWII. It will be superseded by the B-4 model, adopted on May 6, 1942. Issued to a 313th Bomb Squadron, 21st Bomb Group B-25 Mitchel Bombardier during his training in the US and who served with the 9th Air Force in England as a Bombardier on B-26 Marauders with the 572nd Bomb Squadron, 391st Bomb Group.
