Very rare 1st pattern US Army Air Force regulation pilots and aircrews A-10 flying oxygen mask with 3 points fastening device. Size STANDARD. Dated April 1942. Made by ACUSHNET. Stamped US ARMY AIR FORCE. Despite a tear on the left side, the rubber remained flexible and the hose is intact. Complete with original nose clamp, microphone and its juliet harness to allow the mask to be worn without a helmet. The microphones's cord hardened with time and cracked in places. Scarce model. Considered as very uncomfortable, it will be modified from summer 1943 on. Very hard to find in its original design as most have had their forhead strap cut following field regulations.
