Very rare WWII US Naval Aviation carrier based fighter pilot factory made QAS (Quick Attachable Seat) seat type parachute pack, complete with canopy, specific cushion, strap, hooks, D rings and ripcord. Bungees are all there but suffered rom time and tension. Coated canvas pack. Made by SWITLIK. Naval Air Station stamp on flap. The QAS was the solution found by the Naval Services to solve the problem of getting into the cockpit with seat-style parachutes while the aircraft was gyrating on the ocean during launches. The pack stayed in the aircraft and the pilot buckled his harness once seated in the airplane.
