Vietnam US Air Force Pilot Hot-Wet Survival Kit Pair

Very rare pair of "HOT-WET ENVIRONMENT" survival kits from the Vietnam period. In two parts, one operational 6545-782-2822 and one reserve 6545-782-2823. Dated 1966, manufactured by FRAAS SURGICAL MFG CO. First pattern with contents printed directly on the containers. One is still sealed and the other open but with original items still matching the list. It contains basic medical and survival equipment identical to that found in the "TAC" kits but doubled in quantity and also some specific equipment such as signaling projector, butane lighter, fishing kits, etc. Each container comes with an individual pouch with a reference number matching the one on the box. A velcro fastener allows them to be attached to the belt. They also contain a large OG-107 vinyl bag for storing food and equipment. These kits were distributed to Special Forces, Rangers and some helicopter crews and scout units. Depending on the mission, it has also been issued to some Naval and Air Force aircrews, like this one which has been purchased from the estate of a US Navy pilot.
