WWII 8th US Army Air Force British Made Ike Jacket

British-made Ike jacket belonging to a 8th US Army Air Force Captain. The jacket is London tailor-made of Barathea wool with  red lining, characteristic of fighter pilots who flew combat missions and achieved several victories. It features an 8th Air Force shoulder patch, also British-made, in embroidered cotton on wool backing. The sterling pilot's wings are US-made. Ribbons for the Distinguished Flying Cross with a bronze oak leaf, the Air Medal with a silver oak leaf, and the EAME Campaign Medal with 4  battle stars (British-made) are also included. Above the right pocket is the British-made Presidential Unit Citation awarded to the unit in the summer of 1944. US and  Army Air Force officer's winged propellers insignias on lapels. Rank shoulder insignias are British-made by Gaunt. A very fine piece of clothing with high-quality insignias. Hat, shirt, and tie are not included. B-17 pilot John C. Walter, of the 8th Air Force, mentions this tailor in his book "MY WAR".

Named grouping including Tunic, 50 missions crusher hat, documents and personal belongings named to Captain Chaplain John F Schilling, 445th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. Tunic dated 1942, made by "Maurice L. Rothschild". Named on regulation label. British made  8th Air Force shoulder patch. Cotton Army Air Force US made patch. WWII Victory Medal and EAME (Europe Afrique Middle-East) with four battle stars. Service strips on left sleeve. Rare sterling "U.S" and Chaplain cross with matching sterling clutches. Sterling Captain ranks. Fully originally fitted and superb cut. Also included the LEWIS crusher hat with flexible visor and frame. Several documents as the daily newspaper issued during the crossing from USA to England , 27th July  1944 bombing mission take-off plan and secret radio call-signs, leaflet about the driving code in UK, messing tickets and British transport fare tickets.

Also included some personal belongings as two rosaries, purple silk stole, exquisite trench-art lighter made from a 1938 Penny, two patches including one British Made AF patch, Chaplain lapel cross with early clutches, EAME ribbon (awarded before theth battle star). Great grouping.
