US WWII M-1942 service coat belonging to a US Army Air Force Captain. Made of OD#51 wool twill. Tailor-made to the M-1942 pattern by Kuppenheimer. Fixed belt. British-made 8th Air Force shoulder patch (bullion embroidery on wool backing) on the left shoulder. American-made sterling silver pilot wings by Balfour (L.G.B.) with pin back. Ribbon bars: Presidential Unit Citation above left chest pocket, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal (both with bronze oak leaf clusters), and European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (with three battle stars) above right chest pocket. U.S. officer collar insignia and Army Air Corps winged propellers. Bullion-embroidered Captain's shoulder rank insignia. 2 years overseas bullion campaign bars on left cuff. Cap, shirt, and tie not included.
