US WWII M-1942 regulation service jacket ISSUED to a 1st Lieutenant pilot in the 8th Air Force. Made of OD#51 wool twill. Superb US bespoke by BROADSTREET'S of New York. 8th Air Force shoulder patch (embroidered cotton on a wool backing, British-made) on the left shoulder, and a 9th Air Force shoulder patch (also embroidered cotton on a wool backing, British-made) on the right shoulder. A sterling silver pilot’s wing badge—manufactured by Amico or Balfour—is sewn directly onto the jacket. Includes "U.S." officer collar insignia and Army Air Corps winged-propeller insignia. Sterling 1st Lieutenant rank insignia on shoulder straps. Ribbon bar includes the Air Medal (with silver and bronze oak leaf clusters), the Good Conduct Medal, and the EAME (Europe-Africa-Middle East) Campaign Medal with three "battle stars." A Presidential Unit Citation ribbon is positioned above the left breast pocket, and overseas service stripes (representing two years of service) are on the left sleeve.
Shirt, hat, and tie are not included.
