WWII allied pilots double sided escape map made of printed silk. 1943 series. Dimensions 92 cm X 76 cm. Zones G (Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania) and H (Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Crete). Made in England during WWII, these maps were part of an escape kit stored in waterproof pouch printed "MAPS ONLY". Issued to pilots, paratroopers and special agents, these maps were used as scarves or sewn inside jacket's linings. Excellent condition with perfect edgings. Still folded in its original folds. The 1943 double sided escape charts are registered with a letter running from A to K. There are several models for the complete European theater and each side is listed with a letter corresponding to a zone of Europe A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H or K.
