US Air Force F-16 HGU-55/P Pilot Flight Helmet

Early 1980's complete US Air Force pilot helmet and mask belonging to Major Leroy "Pete" Mock (1943-2023) when flying with the 58th Tactical Training Wing. HGU-55/P flight helmet with single tinted visor assembly. Size LARGE, made by GENTEX, dated 1983. Leather visor cover has been custmized with the subdued version of the unit's patch. Helmet is complete with avionics. Leather covered custom liner. The oxygen mask's cord connection has been moved by the Aircrew Flight Equipment specialists to the right side, as the chin strap fastening stud. MBU-5/P oxygen mask made by SCOTT, LONG NARROW dated 1982 with wiring for the microphone and headset. Both helmet and mask belonged to the same pilot and have been found as is. Also included is a superb original cartoon signed by the team and a commemorative plaque. Nice and rare matching set. Display included.
