Combat Edge helmet and oxygen mask set. US Air Force fighter pilot helmet, late 1990s. The helmet is a Medium size Gentex HGU-55/P model. It features a single tinted visor with a gray leather cover "Flying Knights" colors patched. Mounting brackets for the night vision goggles "banana clip". Includes TPL liner, earphones, leather pads and microphone plug for the oxygen mask. Combat Edge occipital bladder with connector. Gentex made MBU-20/P mask, Regular Narrow size, dated 1998. The mask is equipped with the Combat Edge hose for inflating the helmet's occipital bladder. Also included are the customized carrying bag, nomex flying gloves and display bust. The "Combat Edge" system helps maintain a good seal of the oxygen mask by holding it firmly on the pilot's face via the inflatable bladder located under the helmet liner during maneuvers at very high accelerations.
