1970's US Navy Pilot APH-6 A Flight Helmet

Very nice mid 70's US Navy pilot flight helmet. Helmet is a Gentex type APH-6 A circa 1968-75, size LARGE, single tinted visor. Customized with reflective material representing the unit marking stripes and colors. Hook & pile square on visor's cover to allow the strobe light to be fastened in case of ditching. Three-pieces polystyrene liner with leather-covered pads, earphones, cord and plug. The helmet has been modified in the mid 70's with the CX-4832 cord (for aircrafts using the AIC-14 intercom set as used on EA-6B Prowler, A-6 Intruder, C-2 greyhound, E-2 Hawkeye, S-2 tracker). The rare extension to allow the connection of the oxygen mask microphone in addition to the boom microphone is also included.
