QAC US Army Air Force WWII Bomber Aircrew Harness
Rare "Red Group" WWII Army Air Force bomber aircrew QAC (Quick Attachable Chest) parachute harness complete with back pad. Dated 1943, made by EAGLE PARACHUTE CORPORATION. Painted red markings made to associate the right parachute pack in emergency (RED=hooks on reserve, rings on harness). Back pad is still tacked by the "Parachute Riggers" to the harness. Issued to bomber aircrews as pilots, gunners, radios, flight engineers, etc... Named to Lieutenant George W. McRory, bombardier flying on B-24 Liberator, 459th Bomb Group during WWII.
