Vietnam 1st Cav Helicopter Helmet Grouping
Nice grouping including an APH-5A helicopter pilot flight helmet and its carrying bag, a cotton sateen utility uniform OG-107 and a Field Officer service cap named to Lieutenant-Colonel Alden Hannum (1933-2015), three tours in Vietnam (1965-1969) with the 1st Cavalry and 142nd DS Transportation Maintenance Company. Flight helmet is a APH-5A made by GENTEX dated 1966, size large, painted OG-107, a common practice in the Vietnam War early years before the introduction of factory painted helmet from 1967. Complete with avionics and leather covered lining pads. Named on the back and on a name tape on the 1966 matching carrying bag. Also included is the Field Officer service cap made by LUXENBERG and the OG-107 cotton sateen utility uniform with name tape, 1st CAV previous assignment patch on right shoulder and USARV patch on left shoulder. Lieutenant-Colonel rank on collar with Transportation Corps insignia. Nice matching set.
